Why We Built Talentmesh: Fixing the Broken Hiring Process
Recruiters today struggle with outdated hiring tools—manual tracking, scattered data, and gut-based decisions that lead to delayed hiring and bad hires. We saw firsthand how these inefficiencies impact businesses.

So, we built Talentmesh, an AI-powered ATS designed to help companies make smarter hiring decisions, faster. Unlike traditional applicant tracking systems, Talentmesh does more than store candidate data—it analyzes resumes, predicts success, and gives real-time hiring insights to recruiters and hiring managers. Design proccess:

The non-linear process provides the flexibility to revisit and refine ideas as new insights emerge. This iterative approach not only fosters collaboration across teams but also drives user-focused designs, which are essential for a dynamic startup environment like ours.


User stories & personas:
I then conducted user interviews, along with the company co-founder, to gain a deeper understanding of user personas, their goals, challenges, and expectations. To ensure our solution met user needs, I decided to explore different personas in greater detail, analyzing their pain points, motivations, and hiring behaviors. This deeper dive provided valuable insights that shaped our approach to design.

Competitor analysis
When launching a product, understanding the competitive landscape is essential. Analyzing competitors helps us identify their strengths and weaknesses, allowing us to refine our approach and build a more competitive offering. By evaluating industry trends, gaps, and opportunities, we make informed, strategic decisions that drive product innovation and success.

What are the key takeaway from research?
Workable and Manatal are the most feature-complete solutions, with robust ATS, AI recommendations, and branded career page support. TestGorilla and Vervoe specialize in skills-based hiring but lack many standard recruitment features, making them niche solutions. Manatal offers strong collaboration and enrichment tools, while Workable shines in sourcing and pipeline customization.

We wanted to create a solution that bridges the gap between feature-rich platforms like Workable and Manatal and niche tools like TestGorilla and Vervoe. The vision is to deliver a product that combines robust ATS functionality, branded career pages, and skill-based hiring while setting a new standard for recruitment excellence.👍
